Signs of spring

As much as I am dreading summer, I am seeing all kinds of wonderful signs of spring.

Saw my first dragonfly of the year as well as 2 different tiger swallowtail butterflies.

All I see are robins and some daffodils in the yard

I too am seeing signs of spring. Sneezing, sniffling, itching, eyes swelling shut, ext.

As much as I love the changes that occur in spring, my allergies have caused me to hate it.

On a happier note, both of our fersinthia (spelling?) bushes are in full bloom!

Ugh dont remind me of my allergies, they have kicked up already...

I share your pain my friend.

What is even worse, I live in the second worse pollen area in the world.

120 is considered heavy, Monday the count was over 5000.

Yikes!!! I think if I had that much pollen Id probably die.

    I'm EXTREMELY allergic to dandelions.

It's gotten so bad over the years I've become immune to all the allergy meds the doctor can throw at me. Last year I had a few shots that seemed to help a lot, but hurt unlike anything I've ever felt. Haha

I gave up on allergy meds.

Try eating local honey I have heard MANY positive results from that. Has to be local honey thou.

Tried the honey thing. It worked for about a day or 2, but then it stopped.

A friend told me a few days ago that there is some kind of small tea pot looking thing that you put hot water in and put the spout in your nostrils. The steam supposedly cleans the pollen out of your nose.

    Sorry for the hijack Dino!

Did you keep up with the honey? From what I have read it is something you need to keep doing for a long time.

    No worries.

I didn't keep up with it. It made me sick in my stomach, I can't stand the taste.

  16. pirahnah3 Fishlore VIP Member

yeah Dino I share that hornet/wasp allergy with ya, it aint fun.
  17. Dino Fishlore VIP Member

Fun would be one of the last words I would use to describe it.

Ortho foaming spray is your friend lol I know its mine! (I usually have at least 2 cans with me when I mow)

I live in an apartment complex, which is basically ring shaped. We are both ringed by a thick ring of pine trees and the apartments themselves ring a court yard with yet more pine trees.

    It's quite sad.

NettiPots! I don't have allergies but I use them for colds/stuffy nose junk in the winter and they are magic! Just use lukewarm water though, not hot or you will burn the inside of your sinuses ouch!
