Sign Of Fin Rot Worsening On Betta?

I've been treating my Betta's fin rot with API Fin and Body Cure. I've been through an entire dosing period and decided that since I hadn't seen any improvement that I would dose a second round. This round will be half-way done later this afternoon.

But yesterday as I was checking up on him, I noticed little blue specks floating in his tank and realized it most likely was coming from his fin.

Could this be a sign that the fin rot is progressing? If so, is there anything I can do to stop it from happening? Or should I just continue dosing the Fin and Body Cure?

I've also been told to purchase Kanaplex and Furan 2 and I plan to try that if the Fin and Body Cure doesn't seem to have any affect on him.

My little guy seems unaffected as he is still swimming actively and eating fine. For those who are wondering, my tank parameters are located in my bio and pictures (including one that semI shows the specks) can be found on this thread here in the Betta Fish section.

Decided to post about it here in the disease section as well to see if I can get some more opinions on how to help my little guy.

Advice is appreciated

Can you retest your water and give us updated parameters?

Poor water quality is the #1 cause for fin rot, and good water quality is the #1 solution. I looked at your pictures on your previous thread and it doesn’t look like fin nipping or tearing it up on decor - it looks like it’s because of the water.

You should have seen some improvement while medicating him, this just further leads me to believe there’s something not right with your water, or it’s progressed into a bacterial/fungal infection as well. If that’s the case then I would suggest treating him with the Kanaplex.

I tested the water again about an hour an a half ago when I got off work and got the same readings... (only high one is Nitrate at 20) I’m using test strips as I haven’t had enough money to purchase the liquid test kit but if it’s mandatory right now I can see if I can scrape some money together to see if I can afford it

Here's another test done about 15 minutes ago at the time of this post

And right now the water is slightly discolored because of the Fin and Body Cure medicine

I also went to PetSmart today (water is noted as hard but the state I live in has naturally hard water so there isn’t much I can do about that) and the associate who tested my water said it all checks out fine and was impressed by my water quality.
