Sick Keyhole Cichlid, Fin Rot/ Bacterial(?) Pics

20190103_155125.jpg I've had this keyhole for nearly two years. She contracted this disease while being kept in a 29 gallon with three other keyholes. Frequent water changes, tank fully cycled. Now she is in a 50 gallon community with the Keyholes and Neon tetras.

She eats normally and is animated during feeding time, but for half the day rests on the bottom.

Her pelvic fins (and analfin) seem to be rotting, are much shorter than they should be. When I first noticed this I thought it was from aggression and being nipped by other keyholes (even though I didn't witness any biting.)

*Listless during day, sits on bottom. Animatexd during feeding, eats normally and behaves normally when not resting.
* Fin rot
* Eyes cloudy

I've tried many different meds to heal her in QT 29g. Here was the progression I tried over past 3-4 months.

*API General Cure (antI parasitic), 4 day treatment
*EM Eromythicin, 4 day
*Kanaplex, 2 week (in water)
*Kanaplex dried in flake food, 1 week
*Coppersafe (maybe velvet?), 1 month
*Salt, 2 weeks
*Furan-2 (2x 4day treatment)

I don't see any parasites. There may be velvet because under light she has an ashy look the same as her cloudy eyes. She is smaller than her siblings and has been dealing with this the past six months (at least).

Treatment has been in QT, but periodically she goes back to the community and the other fish do not have this problem. Doesn't appear to be contagious, or maybe they all have it, but she was weaker and shows symptoms.

Any med or treatment suggestions? I fear that its bacterial that has mutated to survive.

Could it be protozoans like Trichodina?
Clamped fins and a greyish sheen.
Try treating with Paraguard or something alike.

It's not Oodinium, Ick or Costia. The Coppersafe would have taken care of those parasites. I don't think it's a mutated bacteria, but it could be one of the weaker strains of Columnaris. Even the weaker strains are difficult to cure, and often end up being slow killers. The weaker strains of Columnaris become more virulent if allowed continued incubation inside a sick fish and can eventually infect tankmates. It's best to separate & medicate or euthanize.

Shouldn't have Kanaplex and Furan treated those then ?

Forgot to mention, I also tried an Ick Treatment with Malachite Green.

I know that Furan 2 & Kanaplex are often recommended as the go to meds for Columnaris. I believe that one would be hard pressed to find sucessful outcomes reported on line reference that or any Columnaris treatment. By the time the external symptoms of Columnaris are discovered, damage has already occured internally, making recovery unlikely.
Fortunately I have not had to deal with Columnaris very often, but on the very rare occasions that it has materialized, I euthanized the infected fish and concentrated on saving the tankmates.

I'm now operating under the assumption that its columnaris. In the tank where the fish got sick, I wasn't boosting GH because the tank was not planted.

I found this video which looks to be credible and comprehensive. I'm going to give this a try.
