Sick Glass Catfish??

About a week ago, I got 5 glass catfish. From the moment I put them in, one of them stays behind the filter and I’ve only ever seen him one time. I noticed a day ago that one of my catfish was missing his tail and another one looks like he’s being nipped on the tail. They are in there with guppies and one 1 1/2 inch rainbow shark but it’s really a mellow tank. They don’t show any signs on fin rot so I’m not sure. The catfish that is missing his tail is starting to turn a milky white color where his tail is missing and looks like it has spread or the spot has gotten bigger since then and now he’s laying at the bottom of the tank is there anything I can do?

I'm not 100%, but I think the milky white color may indicate a bacterial infection. If someone else can verify, I know kanamycin is a good medication for bacterial infections... I'm not super great medically, so I'm mainly hoping to bump and let someone else have their say

Okay, the one without his tail died about an hour ago I’m just hoping to keep the others alive. Do you know why the one that’s behind the filter never comes out? I don’t even think he’s eaten anything.

Sometimes when fish get sick they isolate themselves, I don't really know why though, sorry. And that's just one possibility... not much help, am I? I hope someone more knowledgeable can help you soon, but I'll try my best for now

Was it possible that he was maybe sick to begin with & his tail got sucked in by the filter?

Yeah, that could be a possibility. We got him from a small pet store owner. He had over crowding in all his tanks and I know that could cause the fish to get sick. Just not sure how else it would happen.

Right especially if his tail got ripped like that. I'm almost sure it was that. I have 5 glass catfish and theyre amazing. Its so hard sometimes with little fish, but just keep trying. You learn more and more every day.
