Looks like bacterial issue at base of dorsal .
Is the fish being picked on ?
Looks like a non dark black ram and I am not 100% on it being female ?

Thanks for getting back so quickly, as far as I know it isn't being picked on, I haven't seen any aggressive behaviour towards her from the other Ram, or anything else in the tank unless it's when the light is off. I obviously have no way of verifying that it's a female but I have a picture of them both before the fish got sick and maybe that might help clear things up?

The ram I call female is to the right.

I would agree something bacterial, and both males. Although both of the pictures he/she is pale, and does have a shorter analfin than the other. But based on the pictures, I’d say two males.

This looks exactly like what would happen when I had store bought Rams. Randomly they darken, and sit on the bottom, then die. Unfortunately.

Something else to note, 25 Celsius (77 F) is too cold.

Thanks for the temperature info, I guess I'll just see how it goes then. Out of interest what does the female look like?
