I like the look and function of a siamese algae eater and was considering picking one up to replace my clown pleco that passed two weeks ago
I think you should get a Corycat. They are very compatible with Bettas and come in many varieties and patterns, so choose one you like. It’s also possible to get a plectosomus as they can be very colorful too. You can also get normal algae eaters such as the golden one. Overall there are many choices.
I have cories and they don't eat the algae I'm trying to replace mt clown pleco who passed 2 weeks ago but ill try the gold algae eater
I have a 20 longThere are other things you can do to prevent algae like reducing the amount of time the lights are on or the amount of food your feeding. Try this before adding a fish to get rid of the issue
What size tank do you have? I'll recommend a fish if you really need it.
thanks ill definitly keep my eyes out for oneA bristlenose pleco would work perfectly.
No way! They don't get that big. 6" max.Hi,
Siamese Algae eaters need a large footprint e.g. 125g or more. I don't think you have a 125g for a betta
I have 4 SAE's in my 75 gallon and 3 in my 40g. They all seem to have stopped growing at the 4" mark but they're still pigs and eat whatever they can get to.
I never tried siamese algae wafers, just HikarI algae wafers
Well, they do have terrible aI'm so...your profile pick gets me wondering if stormtrooper poop makes it into the toilet
I have tried otcos before and Eugene (my crab) did catch one so I pulled the other one out and gave it to a friendGold algae eaters are color variants of chinese algae eaters that can grow to 12" and are very aggressive as they get older. They also eat less algae as they get bigger.
Maybe a school of Otocinclus? If your profile stocking is current, they might get caught by the crab as they're very peaceful and sometimes too trusting of other fish.
BN pleco will eat algae but not all types.
sure you didnt *suspicious glare*Agree with above!
P.s. I didnt at all search up " Siamese Algae Wafer Size" LOL
I might buy another but no one can replace joker (my previous clown pleco)Aww, I love my clown plecos. They really surprise me with how much they graze on algae and driftwood! They have actually eaten a whole 12" log within a month of having them (I have three). Another Clown Pleco probably wouldn't be so bad if you're okay with that. It's probably the best option besides snails for your current setup.
