Shrimp question!! help me!

Okay so I got a Gold Coral banded Shrimp, hes just alittle guy tho and idk if he can handle cleaning the tank by himself, I have read that as long as I keep him well feed he can get along with other shrimp? is this true cause I'm thinking of getting another shrimp to help clean the fish. what do you guys think? anyone have multiple shrimp in there tank?

 

What other fish are in the tank?
How large is the tank?
How old is the tank?
Have you cycled?
How much left overs are there?
How much do you feed?
How old is the shrimp?

Start with that.

 

The tanks a couple months old its a 30 biocube and all that's in there atm is a small damsel and a baby tang plus the shrimp, rock and a couple feather dusters

 

It seems to be a bit hit and miss with CBS (https://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-CoralBandedShrimp.htm)

Personally, I would probably err on the side of caution, and stick with just the CBS.

It's up to you, I certainly wouldn't go risking more expensive specimens (Skunk/Red-line Cleaners for example) with the CBS, especially in a 30G. If it were a much larger tank, possibly

FWIW - I have 2 x Skunk/Red-line Cleaners, with Peppermints, and they get along just fine, but avoided CBS for the known aggression reports.

Also - whilst not specifically asked - you may need to reconsider the Tang (just a thought, but most Tangs do better in larger [75G+] tanks)

 

Fishlore's profile of the coral banded shrimp says that they can get aggressive with other shrimp. I see the same from a Google search. They appear to generally be aggressive toward other inverts. It may also nip at the feather dusters.

Yea I have read they can be aggresive but tame if they are well fed lol ill probably just stick with him, it was just a thought to get another that's all. and I plan on upgrading the tank eventually anyways plus my tang is just a baby, I got the smallest one ive ever seen for sale so he should be okay for now anywayss
