Shrimp Quarantine?

I think I’m going to get some more shrimp for my betta tank tomorrow. (Hopefully they don’t escape this time, I’m going to acclimate for longer). But do I need to quarantine them? Because idk if they can spread stuff to the fish since they’re shrimp. I don’t have a full quarantine setup, I have 2.5 gallon that would be the quarantine tank but no filter or heater for it. Betta is in a 5 gallon with 2 nerite snails rn.

Shrimp actually really don't get any of the same illnesses fish get. One of the only ways the shrimp would transfer some sort of disease is if it was in the water you got them in. But even then, shrimp are often isolated of fish if it's a reliable source, to prevent exactly that (and reduce the stress of course). I quarantine every fish I receive, no matter the scenario, but I've never quarantined shrimp out of hundreds bought and never got a fish sick over it. This isn't to say it can't happen, but it's extremely unlikely. If the shrimp are sick, it'll likely be an illness that only affects other shrimp.

I'll have to check if the shrimp are kept with fish when I go tomorrow. What should I do if they are kept with fish?

Personally, it doesn't matter to me either way. If you want to be extra safe, you could keep it in a separate tank for a week. Any sort of parasite that would be in the few water droplets they bring with them would die out by then with no host. Considering you have no filter, though, the shrimp may not make it in that tank.

Yeah I was thinking the same about the filter thing. I never put any LFS water in the tank either so I think it’ll be fine.
