And my improvised shading on the lid.

My camera really brightens up the light... It's so much darker in person.

Latest headcount: 8 cardinals, 2 otos

20 gallon long ADFs, female bettas, corries and miscellaneous! Sorry for poor pic. There's a mirror on the back that reflects every sin and I think there's too much agitation (2 HOBs and one 40gph air pump). Always entertaining to watch though.
Looks great for a poor picture. I love female bettas. They almost always work in a community tank. My last 1 was best friends with a male angelfish.

My 55 gallon Freshwater community. Messing with the wide angle lens so it's a bit wonky looking.

OK - I thought I'd add a different view of 'aquarium life' - hopefully it's appropriate! First a picture mid 50/60% water change just after water taken out...
20200105_235024_HDR.jpg
Next the fish cupboard in the utility room - all the stuff collected over 2 1/2 years and needs a clean out as some stuff never been used (eg the Fluvial peat moss pellets and mesh bags) - all the spare filtration stuff is here plus spare pump, fluids, some hardscaping gear and the all important collander for water changes!

20200106_002646.jpg

and the aquarium cabinet too - water change buckets and hoses etc, dry food, ferts, test kits, light controller and cleaning gear

20200106_003012.jpg

Then behind the TV some 'scaping tools and the CO2...

20200106_003139.jpg

our weekend lighting regime

Screenshot_20200106-003805.png

Finally our view of the aquarium - sometimes we ditch the TV and just watch the fish!
