Added some more things to the two tanks I posted previously.
I think the 33 looks like one tank now lol, and the 20 looks better with some red/pink plants and some silly fake décor. And I usually never use fake plants or décor in my tanks, but oh well who cares.

There's' a bonus of my nano cube (also with fake décor lol) for my betta Endymion. He's such a lame betta, alwys being lazy lol.

I think the 33 will become a sorority. The 20 was going to be, but I think the 33 will allow more girls. I just have to move y pearl gourami t my 40 breeder 1st!

Just a little 10g i threw together with stuff i had laying around in the garage. Gonna be a fry tank at least for now. Nevermind the reflection of "Supernatural" on the front lol!

You should name the tank "Supernatural" as the plants aren't "natural" and it looks "super!"

New post that got merged with my comment above:
I had my betta in an ugly plastic 6.5 gallon thing and I didn't like it. So I found this on sale (6.5 gallon cube) and bellow is attempt #1:

IMG_0697.jpg
Which I loved but 2 problems:
1. I have the "pooping-est" nerite snail in the world who apparently ONLY poops on white sand. And I mean thousands of poops. So after cleaning it 2x a week with little success I switched the substrate to black gravel.
2. The black background made the whole tank a circus funhouse hall of mirrors so Milo the betta spent the entire time flaring so I took it off after about an hour of him being in there.

Solutions - changed substrate to black. See photo below. BUT - what can I do for the background to hide the cords/filter/heater/etc that won't reflect or involve me taking the tank apart. Even black textured paper with no shine at all makes the back look like a mirror. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!

Only set mine up a month next Monday-excited that I picked up my first live plants today and will start replacing with live as I go -still new at this - so will start swapping with live next water change. Also have some spider wood soaking in a bucket in my guest bathtub now.

Those small Vals in the corner will surely take over this setup too just like your 55, you know! If they could talk right now, they would be saying, "Hey look, it's monopoly! Lets buy everything out!"

Yeah QUITE familiar with Vals. :hilarious:

Here's the current state of mine. I added some leftover background I had, not sure if I like it. The aponogeton is growing nicely and the anubias in the corner is slowly growing. I'm not really sure about the dwarf hairgrass. Yes, with root tabs, it grows but it I'm always removing algae from it.

My frogbit is bouncing back from shipping nicely. I added it on Monday and there are new roots already.

Here is the status of my two fish tanks right now. The 29g is in a kind of sad :( state right now. It is just so messy with plant growth as I have not been able to keep up with trimming! However, I plan to revitalize this tank once have more time off to do some maintenance. Here is some of the latest;

0513211937a.jpg
Full shot; Everything is getting too messy and out of control in there! However, everyone loves it! I see baby snails and shrimp everywhere, the fish are always grooving amongst the plants, and the shrimp always make appearances now from the sheer number of them out! I usually see about 25-30 at a time now, and I even found an Orange Neocardinia shrimp that I did not purchase! Awesome!

This is a side and top view of the aquarium, see what I mean? The plants are just everywhere!

All of my young Crypts in what I aptly called Crypt Corner. Catchy isn't it?

0513211936a.jpg
Here are some Shrimp on the big rock, the one on the right is Berried! :D

0513211935.jpg
I wondered what the heck that stalk in the middle was, only to realize that Anubias get flowers! This will be my very first Anubias flower, I am so excited for it to open for the first time!

0513211940a.jpg
Here is the new 10 gallon after the first major trim! Plants are doing very well and I estimate that it will be another week or two until the tank is shrimp safe with water parameters. In a few months I will put a Betta in there!

The big one is Pagoda too.
That stone does indeed look really cool! I might have to make a desert themed Aquascape in the future with these miniature "Stone Mesas" along with a small amount of plants. I am thinking some Kuhli Loaches for this setup like giant Sand Monsters!

Brp933

New friends in the 50g tall hex corner.( i really don't know what to call this tank lol)
Added 2 bolivian rams and an platinum angelfish.

First my main tank. Did a waterchange today, added a liter of homemade alder cone extract afterwards. Love the tint like this. Latest readings: pH 6.2, GH < 3, KH 0, TDS 60mg/l, EC 130µSi/cm.

Second my 10l plants-only tank. I run it with the waste water of my RO unit. I like how the plants are jungling in.
The water is only slightly tinted, all brown stuff is mulm, not algae. In such a small tank I can't prevent mulm from being blown up when I fill in water.

It's neither hard nor expensive. At least for the looks. The water parameters are a different thing alltogether. Well... at least when it comes to work. Doesn't cost much though after initial investments. (RO)

I'm going to have to butcher the 29 trash can tank tomorrow; so because I really like watching it change, here's a recent shot. Don't judge the spot algae, I can't get my mag float through the plants and haven't scraped it since Christmas when family was coming.

(There's also a person trapped in this tank but you can only see his knees. I think the plants ate his body)

This might get merged to my last post but here is an updated photo of my 40g breeder. The plants have gone wild. Going to have to do a big trim soon. Ill probably( not sure yet) be selling some cuttings on here and elsewhere but i need to work out how to ship first. Anyway, here's the tank now, current plant stock is: umbrella hairgrass, ludwigia rubin, bacopa caroliniana(red and regular) bacopa monieri, java fern tiger lotus, java moss, water sprite and dwarf sagitaria. Fish stock is: 2 honey gourami, 11 glowlight tetra 6 false julii cory, 2 otocinclus, 1 green dragon bn pleco and 10( so far) neo shrimp low grade colors. Also the tiger lotus has been producing lily pads again.

After the rescape of my 29 gallon yesterday, you may be thinking the tank took a step back in terms of looks. Think again. There are plenty of horticultural things I did to help this tank grow in more lush and full this next time and only then will I have a true jungle. Here is an angled tank as of this morning (didn't want no glare, nope). This tank will be overgrown again fairly quickly, and that cool jungle look will return. ;)

Rule #1 with Jungle/Nature Aquascaping; Use so many different species of plants in your design that you cannot name all the different aquatic plants used within 10 seconds.

0518210909.jpg
I have decided that my Anubias is now one of my favorite plants of all time! Look how good they still look months later!

AGAqua

Sloppy picture sorry. Been 4 months since rescape and almost time for another lol.

I am thinking a single Betta of sorts as I really miss having one as a pet. I am going to try to search for one at my local pet shop that is already housed with other critters. The reason for this is that I have a growing RCS colony in the 10 gallon currently and I do not want the Betta to attack them. After that, I might get a nerite or two and 2-3 Amano Shrimp to live in there as well.

I actually got them from Petco of all places back in December. I bought a group of 12 and put them in my 29 gallon aquarium you have seen before. They thrived in there and populated it until they became a nice healthy colony. What I did here is took 6 of the most vibrant females and 3 males and placed them in the 10 gallon after it cycled. So now, the 29 is a cull tank for the less vibrant shrimp and the 10g is for the really nice ones.

Yea I have a finnex fugeray on my 65g and I love it. I just recently got a 55 gallon don't know the dimensions of it but it looks kind of like yours long alittle tall and not to wide but don't know if a 48 inch would fit it.
Where did you get that driftwood on the bottom?!?! I need to find some thicker ones to provide my pleco a hiding place.

Trying to do THIS EXACT SETUP!!!!!!!! what are the plants?

Here is a larger update on both of my tanks as well.

29 Gallon

0529210943a.jpg
Plants are beginning to thrive again after the massive trim from the last two weeks. The front and back area still needs some more time to fill up, as I converted this tank into a jungle Style Aquascape! Water Wisteria has a ton of side shoots to form dense bushes, which is what I want in this design! I want everything to grow wild in there! To help with this goal, I added a Tiger Lotus bulb 2 weeks ago.

0529210935.jpg
This is how the bulb looked this morning! It is looking great and has plenty of new leaves already within two weeks! I think this will form into a beautiful plant to contrast the Water Wisteria and Pogostemen Octopus which will make up the majority of the background!

0529210936a.jpg
The new Pogostemen is doing great in the 29 gallon trimmed from the 10!

0529210937c.jpg
The Rasboras are breeding yet again, but they are still eating their eggs as expected. I really want to save the eggs eventually to get some babies and maybe sell some of them to you awesome people on Fishlore! I really love my Lambchops, a ton of color, activity, and peacefulness in a small package. ;)

10 gallon

0529210939a.jpg

Plants are on fire in this tank! Growth has been absolutely insane lately! Plus, the Staghorn Algae is finally resolving itself, I got much less now than a few weeks ago!

0529210940a.jpg
You can see that the wood is not staghorn infested anymore, yay!

0529210940.jpg
The Pearlweed carpet has never looked better! It has filled in nicely indeed and I will be carpeting the plant in the 29 gallon as well once I get some excess. :)

0529210939.jpg
Curiously, the Bacopa Caroliniana is turning red in my tank! I have never heard of this plant turning red before, but I think it looks cool though!

0529210939b.jpg
To conclude, the shrimp are still alive and kicking in the 10 gallon! The berried shrimp should be having some babies soon as well!

Going to be making a third tank in a few months (a 75 gallon) as well and I am excited about that!

Got a few new plants and moved some existing ones around a little bit in my 10 gallon today. Not a huge difference but I’m proud of it!

I think the picture gets more clear if you click on it.
The red bin at the top is housing a snail right now. I found him in a store tank with about 40 other dead snails and he was the only one alive. He’s too weak to get to the surface from the bottom on his own, so for now he is in that little thing. It has holes at the bottom for water flow and everything I just didn’t have a proper breeder box.
