I'll post my first 10 gallon betta setup from several years back. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew one thing: live plants were supposed to be good for fish. In retrospect I did a lot wrong, but nobody starts off knowing everything.
If I could offer one bit of advice to newcomers, it'd be this: please do your homework before buying anything. I did a lot of driving back and forth returning stuff I didn't research before buying and messing my tanks up!
