Should I Treat For Ich Or Something Else?

I have a red flame dwarf gourami in a 12 gallon tank. Yesterday I noticed some erratic swimming, randomly darting, and today I see these little bubbles clinging to his body. I can’t tell if it’s ICH or not and I can’t really get a good picture of him. It looks like tiny little bubbles in a string on him. It’s not all over his body though. I attached a picture with a blue circle around the area I’m talking about.

Should I treat for ICH or maybe it’s fungal? Just don’t want to treat for something that’s just bubbles.

If you have no invertabrates then I would treat for ich. Just take the carbon filter out first because it absorbs the medication. Other wise if you have snails or shrimps then you might have to do the heat and salt method.

Seeing how your fish sound like he's already stress I wouldn't recommend the heat treat

Thanks! Unfortunately it looks like he’s about to die. This morning he was barely breathing at the bottom of the tank. It’s good to know for next time though what medication I should have stocked in case it happens again. Thanks for your help

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes too can be a combo of stress and already acquired infections that lead to the infection being seen. Thars why so many people recommend a quarantine tank. A few months back I lost 10 fish over the span of 20 days.

Oh wow sorry to hear. Makes sense though. I should invest in a quarantine tank.
