Should I Quarantine Cories from one of my other tanks?

HI all, let me first say I am a firm believer in Quarantine of ALL new fish.
so, here is my question. many of you know I have a Discus tank now, they are all doing extremely well. and eating very well. with that said, I was not considering any tank mates with this group, but now am reconsidering and thinking of putting a group of corries in with them to help keep the uneaten flakes and more so the uneaten freeze dried blackworm pieces cleaned up. I like the idea of the corries better than I do the BN.
So, I have a group of corries in a 55 gl tank downstairs that I am considering adding to the Discus upstairs. I have had these corries for about 6 months, obviously not wanting to put my Discus in any kind of danger at all, do I still need to QT the corries in a separate tank or since they are not new can I put them directly in with the Discus.
looking for everyones point of view please. thanks

I believe the purpose of quarantining is to make sure they don't come home from the store with an illness. If you've had them six months and they (along with any other fish in the tank) seem healthy, then I would think you would be fine.

my thoughts exactly, I just do not want to threaten the health of these Discus.

I wouldn't either! Someday I'll have some. I would definitely wait for input from more experienced members to be on the safe side.

I think what KinezumI said is pretty much on the money. You've had them plenty long enough to be sure they're not sick. I'd get them rounded up and acclimating ASAP!

I agree with the above.

Only consideration - temperatures, don't Discus prefer temps that are higher than the preference of cory's ???

my understanding is corys can tolerate the higher temp. I am still really undecided whether I want tank mates in there though.

Well QT part is sorted, and the part of cories and high temps, many discus keepers actually keep cories in their tanks for the same purpose.. so I think the high temp shouldn't be much of a prob.
