Should I quarantine cherry shrimp?

I have 24 new cherry shrimp at home and I want to add them to my 29 gallon planted tank. In the tank I have 5 honey gourami, 5 cardinal tetras, 5 sterbai corydoras, two mystery snails, and a handful of ramshorn snails. A 10 gallon quarantine tank is ready to go but then I’ve read that maybe I shouldn’t quarantine the shrimp for a few weeks because moving them twice could be stressful? Can they pass on any diseases to my tank? I’m fine with quarantining them if that’s the better way to go but if there is no chance of disease maybe I shouldn’t.

I would be careful of the honey gourami. If shrimp fit into mouth they will get gobbled up.

Are there already shrimp in this tank?

Did you get shrimp from reliable hobbyist?

If you have inspected shrimp and see no parasites on head or body and no green fungus on legs then you should be fine going directly into fish tank.

I got the shrimp through the mail so I don’t know their history. There have been no shrimp in the tank before. There are a lot of live plants in the tank so I’m hoping most can hide and survive. Luckily, the shrimp I received look full grown. I will study their bodies for any problems but I don’t have an expert eye for that.

Ok look for group of worms on head like this.

This is the other common one to look for. Green fungus on legs. This is very apparent but can be less easy to see. But when they get bigger dont mistake for eggs.

Shrimp need much slower drip acclimation more than fish. Here is how I did some I got shipped. Be careful with this. Dont just dump. Ph and gh and kh changes effect shrimps alot. If to big of swing can send them in to a molt and if not ready can die.

Thanks for the tips! I will follow them. I’m raising their temperature slowly now and I’m in no rush!
