I bought a female betta fish 2 days ago and I put her in the tank with my male betta fish since the store guy said its okay.. But the male is chasing my female betta and trying to nibble her or bite? and I don’t want her to get hurt so I separated them.. but the store guy said its okay and thats the process of getting to know her? so SHOULD I PUT HER BACK? im scared guys please help.. she keeps hiding and running away and im afraid she will get stressed.. also I don’t think she’s ready to breed and my male betta fish’s side gets wide when he chases her like he’s mad or something.. please someone help me what should I do? and I can’t afford another tank so I keep her in a plastic container with food and etc..HELP???

Welcome!
Never put a female in with a male, unless breeding. Can you return her?
If not, you can but a plastic tote and fill it up with tank water, till you can do something else with her. It's not ideal, but its better than in with the male.

If this is the kind of advice you get from the store guy, I fear I would not listen to anything else they say. In most cases the male will end up killing the female if you leave them together. The only time you put a male and female together is for breeding. When breeding them you only leave them together long enough to finish the job and then you remove the female.
