Should I pay $40 for a betta?

Another one of my friends has a younger sister (7-8 years old) who owns a betta in a HALF GALLON JAR! The kid is willing to sell me the betta for $40 ! For a $2 fish! Should I do it? I could give it a much better life in a Planted 5G!

So don't. "A fool and his money are soon parted."

HAHAHA no
$40 should be the price of a super-special pedigree fish imported from Thailand, not some brat's Petsmart fish.

I'd try talking them down first though. Kids don't tend to have a very realistic understanding of money or how much something ought to cost. Ask em how much the fish cost them to get, and why you should pay $40 instead of $4.

If they don't budge, then just steal the fish- uh I mean, use that $40 to rescue 4 bettas from petsmart instead of one.

Price is all about how much a buyer is willing to spend. If you want the fish buy it.

I have a feeling that the kid would simply buy another- but what a hustler!
