Should I move Pregnant black molly?

Ok so I bought 4 mollies about a week ago (2 Dalmatian,2 silver) 2 females and 2 males. My silver female gave birth that night but none of the fry survived.not only that both of the silver mollies died the next day! I went and picked up a black female molly and she is definitely pregnant. I put her in the breeder net because she is looking pretty square. She ate a little and now she isn't eating the food I put in there for her. Here are my questions! Lol was it the right move to put her in there? Should I wait the night and take her out if she hasn't had them by tonight? Thank you for your help! (I have one male and two females now just to clarify)

Yes it was right to put the female in just in case she is going to give birth in a couple hours. If she doesn't give birth right away, just wait a couple more days.

They are doing great! 7 of them are getting pretty big and 2 are still small so I have a 10 gallon set up with a breeders net. I released the 7 bigger ones in the tank and kept the little ones in the net for now! I just put my other mollies in my new 55 gallon tank! Super excited!

I lost a molly last night. Also pregnant from the store. I don't have a breeder box or anything yet. Which of course you need with mollies, but I didn't intend to get mollies. Anyway she was...miscarrying I guess last night. She was dropping eggs. Ever since I got the home the other mollies picked on her, she hung/hid out by herself a lot. She was in rough shape this morning and died quickly after I scooped her up.

Sorry to hear!! If you are getting them from say Petsmart or Petco, unfortunately this seems to be a common thing especially with livebearers. I bought 4 male guppies, 3 died within 2 days. Went back, got one more male and 4 females. One female died the next night, the male died the night following that, and the other two females died the next week (one while giving birth and the other about 10 min after dropping 45 fry). Raise your fry, keep your water perfect (do your water changes and don't overfeed) and your fish will be heartier than anything the pet stores have to offer!

I lost the mother to these molly fry but the ones I have are very healthy and I had gotten an orange molly she dropped 15 fry and they are doing great to but I lost her. And then I bought a sail fun molly and she was pregnant and dropped 22 fry! She passed too but I think she had been picked on in my tank. Now I have a 55 gallon tank and I will be getting another big tank to keep all of my mollies!!! Has anyone else had the problem of mollie giving birth then dying???
