Should I move my pregnant balloon molly?

fonny1

So I am upgrading my fish tank from 8g to an 80g tank. I have just finished cycling my 80g and have 4 balloon mollies to move but one of them looks pregnant (I believe she was the momma that had fry 4 weeks ago).

I’m wondering do I move the rest into the new tank (80G) and leave the pregnant one in the current tank (8G) until she has the fry or should I just move them all?

Thank you in advance for any advice

It generally really is not necessary to seperate pregnant fish from everyone else when it comes to livebearers. I wouldn't seperate unless you plan on keeping all of the fry and breeding yourself right out of that 80 gallon!

Either way should be fine. If you want to keep all of the fry then keep her in the 8g.
If don’t want fry, then you can put all of them in the 80g. You still might get some fry if you put them in the 80g, and they should be the faster, smart fry.
