Should I move my fry?

Atm...my 4 molly fry DOB 10-11-20 are in a breeder net hanging in a 36g bow. I have 2 dalmatian mollies, 4 skirt tetra, 3 Platy, 1 pleco (approximately 5"), 2 ghost shrimp, live plants. Water parameters are good.

I have a 10g with water from main tank with a bumblebee catfish about 1" long. A tiny thing. but I just got him. and live plants.

I'm concerned about the bio load in main and/or the net getting knocked down so thinking of moving the net to 10g. But just got the catfish so he's in quarantine.

Without getting ANOTHER tank....what might be the best case scenario here?

I would leave the net in the main tank. I had a breeder net hanging in my tank with suction cups and my platys and mollies would swim between the net and tank, Barry fitting but the net stayed in place

Up the "keep in the main" vote. I don't know your breeder net but often times there is not enough water movement inside a hangon net/container. You may want to drop in a very slow airstone in there. If you will routinely try to raise babies this way, there was someone selling some contraption for this purpose that had its own little filter and water outlet. I spilled coffee on it at an auction and felt obligated to buy it, even though the seller was cool about it. I raised pleco babies in it and it worked fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. hadn't thought of that. Not something I have but store is very close. Would a valve regulator do the trick for this?

Well between mollies and platys who knows? Lol. Would love to see a pic if you have

Will do. (though I always think limiting the airflow with a single valve can't be good on the pump. I sometimes use a T to exhaust the extra air, but I may be paranoid about it I don't know. Be careful there are a lot of bad quality airstones out there, which will give out large bubbles, you don't want that.

I don't know where mine is, it's been a long time since I used it. It is essentially modified from a plastic breeding box, drilled on the bottom for filter entrance (the sponge stays outside the box in the main tank, so th emain tank water is filtered before coming in the box). The opposite end has a big hole with a wire mesh as the outflow. No slits on the side (no small fry escape or sucked out by big fish). Better designs can be imagined but that is the general idea, a micro hang-on tank within the main tank, circulating the main tank water.

Idk alot about this but I have a tetra whisper 60 w/dual air outlet. Atm, a bubble ornament in 10g is hooked up to 2nd outlet. I do have a t-valve. I could hook up 3 to it. You think this pump can handle all 3?

Sounds interesting. I'll think on this more as time goes by. Thanks.

Only one suction cup here and Clarence likes to hang off the bottom to torture the poor babes
