Should I Keep in Quarantine?

My betta has fin rot (which didn't affect his behavior or anything before), and it hasn't been getting better, so when I moved my fish over to their new tank today, I moved him into quarantine so I could add aquarium salt (I have planted tanks and cories, which is not why it was used earlier). He seemed fine and was active. I just got home from dinner, and he's the most stressed now that I've ever seen him. His tail is clamped for the first time ever, and he just seems all around upset. Should I move him into the community tank with his plants and his cories (who he likes to immitate)? I don't want to make his fin rot worse by upsetting him.

Do you have anything in quarantine for him to hide in/behind?

I moved him. He immediately went to go find the cories. He looks much happier now. I'll consider quarantine again if it gets worse over the next two days. It's been bobbing back between healing and worsening, so I'll just keep doing the frequent water changes.

I would at least put some fake plants into quarantine if he goes again, so at least he has something to hide with.

I agree. I'll have to find some soft ones since he's prone to ripping his fins.

Silk ones work pretty well for that.

Update: no signs of rot today. No healing yet, but the no rot is good. He's really happy in the bigger tank. I read up on salt baths so that if it starts again, I only need to move him for a few minutes before putting him back.
