Should I just add her to the rest of them?

I have a 4 inch Oranda who I just got from Pet Supermarket a few days ago. The fish is perfectly healthy, and eats wonderfully, but is seriously stressed out about being by herself. I honestly don't think she's ever been alone in her life! She won't leave her log unless there is food involved, and then she litterally attacks all the food, Swims around to make sure she got it all, then goes back into hiding.

She's QTing in a cycled 10 gallon, and is going to be moved into my 65 gallon pond with my two other fancy goldfish. Do you think I should just go ahead and add her to the pond? I'd hate to stress her into sickness, but I'd also hate to cut QT short... Ugh, what do you guys think?

You could do a preventive dip in something like meth blue. But if she looks healthy, maybe let her loose. Goldfish are pretty hardy fish.

Remember, ich is a parasite, so if she has it, it's not exactly stress induced, it does have a cause. I'd rather ick show up in QT then in the pond.

The tank is heated, and she hasn't shown any signs of illness. No flashing, gills looks great, etc, etc. I'd hate to make her sick because she's stressing about being alone, but I'd also hate to make my other babies sick.... I have salt and Mardel General Cure and Kordon Rid-Ich Plus.

Well, I know in a tank ich is a lot less of a problem then in a pond, because tanks can be heated, so it's your call.

My thought, on the treatment thing, is that my ponds get full sun all day long, so they do easily get near 100. I'd like to see any Ich make it through that

Yikes! That's not so good for a goldfish Maybe invest in a pond chiller? If one exists?

Maybe you could put one other fish in with her...but the QT sounds a bit small for that.

The fish are smart enough to go where its cooler during the times it does get warm. My 8 inchers would have not have lived 2 years had they not figured it out, honestly. The smaller pond does have a ton more circulation, though, so I'd immagine it's a lot cooler than the 150 gallon pond. Even still, many people keep fish ponds with little more than a filter and plant, as do, in Florida.

If I'm putting an other fish in with her, I might as well just put her in the pond, is my thought, really. I want to just do it, but at the same time, I don't >.<
