Should I get an airstone for 20 gallon community?

    Hi everybody!!

Some of you may know I'm planning a 20 gallon community. I plan for it to have four male fancy guppies, three platys, three amano shrimp, and 6 julii cory catfish. I also love live plants, and will get java fern, anacharis, 2-3 Marimo moss balls, possibly java moss, hornwort, anubias, and a banana plant. My filter will be the Aqua Clear 50, and the heater will be the 100 watt Aqueon Pro. Sorry, just trying to give you a little back round info.

Okay, so most of my fish keeping experience has been with bettas. Most of you probably know that bettas breathe from the surface using their labyrinth organ. Obviously they do not need an airstone.

But will my planned tank need one? I have no experience with airstones, so I thought I'd ask a forum I trust :;hi1

Thanks for any help and advice!!!

EDIT: The Aqua Clear is an HOB and with that many live plants I personally feel that my fish would be fine without one but I want to get other opinions. If there are people who believe I should get one should I just get a small one since there are already multiple sources oxygenating the water or what?

If you have live plants, you should not need an air stone. If you are using an HOB, don't fill the water level as high so there's a bigger "waterfall". Oxygenation comes from surface agitation.

I personally feel all tanks should have one.
