Should I Buy This Saltwater Tank With Lion Fish?

I have no experience with saltwater fish,and no real experience with any of the fish that really need to have a certain PH to survive,only hardy fish really.so for a really cheap price someone is selling a tank with a lion fish,I will not be able to upgrade the tank further and I tried talking with the seller but I have gotten no response,so I have no idea about the tank and the lion fish other that these photos,do you think that I would be making a smart choice by buying this?

Impulse buying is always bad...If you have no experience I'd either research or not get it.

 

I think they'd be passing a gross lack of research down to you if you did. The tank doesn't even look set up properly, I don't see a lid or any light, and I think there's just a powerhead in the back, no filter, no heater. You'd have to spend more than what you're buying the tank for just to set it up the right way. In addition to that, maintenance on a salty tank is a bit harder and more expensive

 

Yep...You probably shouldn't get it, especially if the seller is unresponsive.

 

I wouldn't get it either. Saltwater requires lots of research and learning from my experience and that's half the fun! The other half is putting together your own build and stock. I would pass on this given the lack of information but if you DO want to go salty, we'd be more than happy to help guide you. Don't start off inheriting someone else's potential mess!

 

I agree, the marine hobby is NOT something to just jump into. Truth be told I did 4 months of research between local fish stores, forums/sites like this one, youtube, and just random people in the hobby before I even bought my first tank. a Fish Only with just a dwarf lion wouldn't be terribly complex but there are definitely things to learn first before diving into marine care.

Sump, protein skimmer, over flow? Too many unknowns at this point.
