Share Your Gardens Growth!

Hello gardners! Just thought I'd make a post to showcase all of our food and fruits and plants! Growth! My plants have been growing like weeds in some cases... And so have the weeds! I really need to trim it up again like it used to be.. Convince my siblings to help! We picked out the plants together based mostly off what we eat. We tend to eat mostly salad and peppers and some fruits but don't have the option to grow them all.
Though I might just buy a cherry tree some day soon.

I've got blackberries, strawberries, plums and grapes for fruits, and spinach, stirfry broccoli, various lettuces, rainbow carrots, wild onions, san marazano and cherry tomatoes, and banana peppers growing.
I want to get a blueberry bush as well, since huckleberry bushes are impossible to come by even in washington.
I had beans and egg plant, but I don't know where they went...

I've been documenting growth for my friend online, so figured I'd share here.
I'm not sure when I should harvest my broccolI so.I'm just waiting it out.. Lol
And I need to out up mice deterrent for my strawberries.
They're eating too good!

Here is my growth to start...
And in the comments growth til now!
This is about when they were first purchased / started sprouting.
Our broccolI has sort of grown in stages, with one side continuously being far smaller than the biggest one. It's super cool to watch.

I'll probably redig the strawberry garden and have it spread out to the edge of the broccolI section. Then I'll rock it off and put up some mesh/wire fench with holes small enough that mice can't get through.
The berries are very good and almost tasted like watermelon, but not if mice eat all of them... Lol

And now!
The last purple plant is a purple basil, it's supposed to be aromatic and spicy almost. I've also got a bonsaI and rosemary growing too. Trying to get catnip growing but it's having a tough start.
Probably will plant more of that basil too to try to get healthier back ups.

No pesticides, most of this growth has been achieved without human enhancement such as watering all the time or fertilizers.
Though the hotter it gets the more we water, but it's starting to get stormy now.

Your broccolI looks ready to me. It looks like the flowers are close to opening so don't wait too long. The flowers are edible though so it's up to you. I like the stems as well. Just peel them and use raw or cooked.

I was thinking it was ready back a while ago, but it's just kept getting wider instead of opening! Lol!
I have two photos of it next to my hands and I think they're only about 4-5 days apart from each other.
I think I'll probably give it another week or so and see how it continues to grow, since I don't want to pick it when it's got a lot more growth it wants to give.
I'm not sure how low to cut it, at the end of the stem, (like we see at the store?) Or lower?

I'd cut a little lower, but I love the flavor of the stem. ☺

Lupin.jpg[

QUOTE="Crazycoryfishlady, post: 4167681, member: 105580"]Beautiful flowers! My favorite flower is Lupine. I love the shape and all the different colors. Wild is probably my favorite though.
I want a huge flower garden in the yard, but I need to find my seeds! I got all these perennials for nothing[/QUOTE]

My raised beds are going, 15 yrs old, and my flower garden is not actually on my land. I will have to make the tough decision to cut back and find homes near by for many plants in the future. Without a fence the elk will make fast work of my protected plants. I could divide perennials forever! In August there will be 100+ scented lily blooms coming! I have lupins too.

Harvesting my broccoli! It's starting to spread out XD
I wonder, will it seed if I let it flower?????
I probably should have done it a few days ago, but it definitely grew in size a lot since I posted!
My bana pepper is growing so well! Looks yummy!
Cant wait to pickle my own pepproncini!
My lettuces and spinaches are huge! And my carrots very leafy too.
Everything is doing so well! In about 2 weeks I'll be buying fencing for my berry patch lol
Hopefully the mice don't decide to dig or climb!
The tomatoes are starting to do very well too, gaining size and stalking out! So excited!

Fun! I enjoy gardening, but my garden is mainly for food.. I do have a few sunflowers planted. I have carrots okra, radishes, tomatoes, beans corn and potatoes. I freeze and can my veggies. I did around 60 quarts of beans, 40 quarts of corn Last year, now we are running low so it will be good to stock my freezer again. I will probably can tomato soup, ketchup, pizza sauce and pickles.

I don’t have a garden because it just wasn’t in the cards this year, but I did manage to get some things planted!

I have crooked-neck yellow squash and cucumbers growing in my turtle’s outdoor enclosure so they can eat it as it grows, but of course I will as well I’m waiting for more male blossoms on the squash so I can try breading and frying them.

We got this plum tree to plant near their enclosure as well. It’s self pollinating and has two types of plums. Shiro plums and Methley plums! Should bare fruit in 2-3 years

And my Carolina Reaper peppers which I started way too late but I have faith they’ll give me peppers before the summer’s over.

Oh my goodness.
Always jealous of a pepper grower.
I tried carolinas, and it did so well, until a pest destoyed all of its main leaves.
It's tiny starts, and being indoors for part of the time ruined it's chances as winter came around and it was still a "sapling" you could say I guess.
I ended up losing it along with a green bell pepper, but now I've got my banana.
Head out to take some photos now...
I did harvest my broccoli, got a decent amount. Might look into harvesting spinach today and making my cheese dip.
It's so yummy.

Not sure if I'll be getting a chickenwire fence this paycheck or not. We'll see how my funds sort out.

Banana is doing well, my spinach is huge! Lettuce is doing well as well and we could definitely get a salad out of this.
My little basil is doing very well, secondary leaves coming in.
Rosemary and tomatoes are getting quite large too!
Though my san marazano doesn't like this dirt, so it's still a tiny baby.
And my broccolI is being overrun by the morning glory....
Good thing I have two days off *right?*

Here's my plants now!
Due to not using any pest detterent and my cats getting in the garden, some of the spinach was lost and other pieces are struggling.
It's grown itself so tall that its hard to stand it up lol
Other than that I've been using my lettuce every few days abd it's doing well.
The carrots are pretty large it seems, and I've gotten a few more plants as well as lost some.

The broccolI was hit with the lawn mower so it's only got 2.5 stems left lol
So we put cucumber in it's place.
I also got a pickling cucumber as well.
I planted cabbage by the spinach remains, and we got a gypsy bell pepper plant which is fairly small.
We got an ichiban eggplant
Horseradish roots
Some perennials and a few other plants can't recall them all...
Other than that everything is great and even though we aren't the best at weeding... It's okay lol
I haven't really been trimming my broccolI either.. Just letting it flower because they're so pretty and the bees love it.
If they're happy I am!
I might not do this broccolI again next year or have any at all lol

Those carrots are amazing!! Haha, that’s so funny!

We got our first squash and cucumber! They’re having a hard time because too much rain is causing blossom end rot. They’re rotting and dying before we’re able to pick them, but that’s okay, the turtles can eat them!
I fried the squash and it was a hit! My boyfriend tore them up and he hates pretty much any fruit or veggie.

My boyfriend’s mom had pointed out this tomato plant growing next to our turtle pond so I took it out and repotted it haha so cool! I throw tomatoes and what not in the pen for the turtles to eat so it must of grown for them

Love it when seed starts pop up where you wouldn't think! I have a terrible time growing zucchini's for the same problem, but then I live in a rain forest! Great looking veggies..

Crazycoryfishlady Wow, your garden is so lush! Nice Rosemary plant!

It’s awful! I have 4 squash plants and they have 30+ squash on them but I’ll probably only get 4 or 5 edible ones. I only have 2 cucumber plants and they’re doing the worst, I wouldn’t be surprised if that cucumber is the only one I get all season. But like I said, that’s okay. Not even the bad ones go to waste, my two turtles love them

I finally have a ghost pepper starting!! I was really excited to try them this year but I found out last night that I’m allergic to jalapeños. I snacked on a few slices and my face immediately broke out in an itchy rash so I’m not sure I can even do anything with these now.
