Help Sexing My Rainbows

Hello guys, I have photos of my 2 Boesemani Rainbows here. One is about 2 inches and the other is at 3 inches. Can you help me identify their genders? I am qiute confused because I think the colors are quite drab or ugly so its hard for me to identify them. Thanks!

Hi, Both look female to me. Males would be much deeper bodied... and more colourful.

Thanks for the reply. But sometimes the 2” one looks like a male when flashing or showing colors specially in the mornings. Im so confused

Top a male and the bottom photo is a female the male is still young so his colour will deepen with age my male is the first pic and the other 3 are my females
Wow that is one beautiful fish! If mine is a male I hope he will get that deep color too

Thank you yours is deffo a male and he will colour up once he has settled in and grown up a little their colour get better with age mine is still very young aswell I would get another female tho as the males are very boisterous with the females

Awesome! Is it advisable to have more females? If my young one is a male i now have 5 males & 2 females

To be honest I'm not sure I just remember reading something a while back that a good ratio is 1 male and 2/3 females
Yeah I think I’ve read that somewhere too. That is why it made me worried. I bought these guys as juveniles not knowing that most of them turned up to be males. I hope they will be fine, so far I did not see any aggression for now.
