Sexing angelfish is extremely difficult. The only to determine whether an angelfish is a male or female is when they breed. When angelfish starts breeding, that is when they exposed their papilla or breeding tube, which is a for sure way of determining whether it's male or female. Male angelfish tends to have a pointed and narrow papilla while the females will generally have a more rounder, cylindrical shape in their papilla.
