I have an empty 75 gallon tank with two fluvial canister filters that is done cycling. I have decided to go with a South American theme. I have decided to have 1 severum as a centerpiece fish, 6 cores, 5 rams, and some schooling fish. I was wondering if I could have 10 neon tetras with the severum and rams. I have lots of driftwood and artificial plants in the tank so the fish could hide. Would it help if I put the neon tetras in before the severum and put the severum in when it is small? I would really appreciate any answers.

That would not work. As soon as the neons would fit into the severums mouth they would be gone.

Black skirts would be fine. Silver dollars can get pretty big so you would need to be more conservative number wise.
