I feel like a new parent or grandparent! I have 5 females- 4 platys and 1 guppy that appear to be getting a belly on them. so! time to get the nursery tank set up.

Guppy and platy moms and dads- do you remove the female once she drops fry?

Can I see others' nursery/hatchery/grow out tanks please? I am going with a natural river look on mine, but wanted to see others

The tank I'm currently using for breeding cpds is just bare bottomed with a sponge filter and spawning mops with.a handfull of cuttings from my main tank chucked in.

I find bare bottom tanks much easier to keep clean with fry as they need to be fed more the mature fish.

Ive got a 10 gallon tank set up for my 3 platys there all due within a few days of each other so ive moved them into the tank (fully cycled) and put a fry net in so I can catch the babys. then wen there finished giving birth ill move the mums back to my main tank and let the fry out to grow up

I didn't have a nursery (wish I did) but I do have a breeder net. After my female guppy had given birth, I netted the fry and put them in there. After two months, I moved them to the main tank where my platy chased the poor things. After a few days he got used to them and stopped chasing Sadly, my tank crashed, and the babies died;( Live and learn I guess
