For those of you who have done this, what tips do you have? Substrate or not? live rock or not? Thanks in advance!

For quarantine I tend to go plain, bare bottom with a decor piece for hiding. I do this because if there is something contagious with substrate and so forth just makes even more stuff that needs to be sterilize, before next group of fish is added.

Makes sense! I'm getting enough stock in the tank I don't want to lose to disease.

I haven't done one in SW, but the QT tanks I see at my LFS are all bare bottoms with different sizes of PVC pipes so they can go hide in and feel a bit more secure during the QT process.

I picked up some pvc today and I have another clay flower pot. I think bare bottom is best but I just relied so much on live sand and biospira(sp?) for an instant cycle. It will take a while to start from scratch.

I run bio-media because of emergency Setups if needed
