Setting up another 10 Gallon tank with goals

This weekend I will be setting up my 2nd 10 Gallon tank that has been empty for awhile. I was in the process of mineralizing my Organic Miracle Grow Choice so it took awhile, but finally it is done.

I've been ordering plants from ebay for very cheap and quarantining them for a couple of weeks, low and behold what do I see in my quarantine containers? Pond snails, planaria and worms this morning. Just got to say one thing, Fenbendazole baby!!!.

Plants in Quarantine Containers:
-Java Moss
-Java Fern
-Windelov Fern
-Anubias Nana
-Flame Moss
-Subwassertang

Transfering plants from my other tanks:

I finished attaching suction cups to my plastic canvas for the moss wall. I silicone the suctions cups to the plastic canvas and completed the curing process.

Half the tank will be filled with substrate and the other half with be bare.

Ordered flourish excel and I will be dosing this tank with it four a couple of months since I am not planning on having any inhabitants till the end of the summer (maybe Orange Pumpkin shrimps or Pearl Blue Shrimps) not sure yet. Plenty of time to think.

Goal: To have a pond snail, hydra, planaria, deritus worm free tank.

 

Are the cheap plants you are getting from Malaysia? I've been tempted to grab some from there on eBay but am waiting until I get another tank set up.

Yes I got them from there. I give myself a certain limit on how much I am going to pay for each plant and I always look for free shipping. Sometimes I win and sometimes I don't. I wasn't in a rush to get plants so I wasn't attached to winning a certain item.

For example...I got the 3 Anubias Nana for a total of $2.15 including shipping. I was just lucky that no one bid on it.
