Serpaes getting nippy

milkyfish93

so Ive got a 20 gal long with 6 serpae tetras, 4 flame tetras, and 3 albino corys. They've been together in the tank for about two weeks, but lately I've noticed my flames getting their tails nipped away by my serpaes. Right now I don't have many options, my other 20 gal is being used by my 4 other corys and 6 flames. The reason I seperated my flames from each other in the first place is for this same reason.

What should I do? I can't really afford another tank right now and all I have is an old, empty 5 gal. Kind of worried I might just have to rehome my serpaes because they don't get along with anybody.

Serpaes are known to be fin nippers especially when kept in small numbers, if you haven't room to up their numbers then I'd suggest rehoming them

Will do, thanks for the help!

Well my LFS agreed to take the fish back for me, so for now I've moved the six serpaes into my spare 5gal until I return them tomorrow night. Peace has been restored to my 20 gal!
