"Seriously" Oddball Fish

By "Seriously" oddball fish, I mean fish that are very rare in the aquarium hobby, fish that most people on this forum have never heard of. Not just somewhat rare and cool looking fish like spiny eels, but fish that appear in the aquarium trade only a few times a year or less.

So what extremely rare and cool, freshwater, oddball, aquarium fish do you know of. Just curious.

 

Freshwater frogfish

 

I just stocked a school of Beckford's pencilfish and they're extremely interesting. The info on pencilfish is limited and doesn't seem to be accurate

 

Freshwater flounder? Not sure how common it is. I’ve seen it at my LFS before

 

You don’t really see many of the darter species around. Oh, and my LFS sells electric eels.

If I had a saltwater tank and $110 to chance on a juvenile 1" fish it would be a pinnatus batfish. They are gorgeous,rare, difficult to keep although studies have been done on their diet to increase survivability in the aquarium.

 

Leopard bush fish (Ctenopoma acutirostre) Saw these the other day and thought they were kinda cool. Quite pretty for a brown fish!

To be honest $110 is pretty cheap for such a fish.
