Semi-new driftwood; what's this mossy stuff on it?

HI there! A few weeks I got a big piece of driftwood for my 10 gallon tank. A few days after I got home with it and put it in the tank, I noticed this green hairy/fuzzy stuff growing on it. I know it's not Java Moss because I have some and it looks totally different. I just can't seem to match it to anything off internet pictures. It's very fine and hairlike - the strands just about match the size of a strand of my hair. It's spreading somewhat along the top of the wood.

Does anyone know what this is?

Good morning,

I have moved your thread from Aquarium Plants to Driftwood section of the forum.

Here is a link or two that may help you ID the type of Algae on your driftwood:

Good morning,

Everythingzen, yours appears to be what I call White Hair Algae and should eventually go away on its own.

Let's get more responses.

It doesn't seem to be algae. It doesn't have that slimy feeling algae has, and it has little T pieces that look kind of like the java moss... just smaller. I'm pretty sure it's moss, just not what kind.
