Seeded Cycle?

I’m going from a 30 gallon to a 70. I swapped over a Fluval 106 that has been running for about 6 months on the 30. I also took 3 trays out of a Fluval 304 and put some gravel from the 30 in them, then put the trays in the 70. Would this be considered a seeded cycle? If it is how long do I wait to test my water? And is there anything else I should be doing to this tank to make it fish ready?

Are you feeding the bacteria you moved over to this tank? If you are breaking down the 30 and just going to have the 70 you can just move the whole cycle and fish over to this one and the tank will be cycled.

That’s what I’m going to do. But I wasn’t sure if there were more steps that I had to take.

Nope, it is as simple as moving everything over to the bigger tank. As long as you have the same bio-load (meaning the same fish) you shouldn't even experience a mini-cycle.

It is a good idea to keep an eye on the perimeters for a while to make sure all is going as expected.

Excellent, thank you.
