Sediment/Particles in water?

HI again everybody...

I was wondering if anyone would be able to provide me with some advice on my water condition. There appears to be some kind of sediment or particles floating around in the water that I cannot get rid of. I'm not sure if it is in fact the water, or if something else is causing this to happen. I'm not even sure if it IS a problem.

Basically my water is not crystal clear (which I would like it to be). I tried doing a complete water change, as well as replacing the filter...but nothing seems to be working. I have a 10 gallon tank with a filter and an air stone, so I don't think it could be a circulation issue. Any ideas would be very appreciated. THANKS!!

What kind of substrate do you have in the tank? Is it sand, gravel, or something else? Could it possibly be that your substrate needs more rinsing? How long has the tank been set up? Is the tank cycled?

I have a gravel substrate in my tank, which has been setup for about 3 Months now. I do believe the tank has been cycled, and I thoroughly washed the gravel when I fist set it up, and I just did it again about 3 weeks ago. I also tried using an Accu-Clear product that clears up cloudy water, but that did not help. Do you think it might have something to do with the filter I'm using (Whisper Bio-Bag)?

You can only see the particles when you get right up next to the tank...they're very tiny. I'm not sure if its harmful to the fish or not? Thanks for your help.

Could it just be air bubbles, I have them in my tank because of the filter.

It could be dust that fell in the tank.

It may be your filter. I have a 20 gallon long I started with, and had the same problem when I first started out. I think I only had 1 filter on that tank in the beginning, and it was a whisper. I now have 2 filters on that tank, and the water is crystal clear. Your tank sounds like it's got a full bio load, and the one filter may just not be enough to keep the particles down. Try not to use the clarifiers. They don't work very well, and you are adding more chemicals to your tank. We don't recommend using those here.
