Securing Moss To Decoration (pvc Pipe)

I'll be putting a 3" diameter, 12" long clear PVC pipe in my 20 long to provide hiding places for my Corys, and would like to cover it in moss. Any clever ways to accomplish this? I was thinking of wrapping the pipe in screen and somehow anchoring the moss to it that way.

Fish line, steel mesh or glue(I don't recommend with moss).
But you could tie steel mesh around pvc pipe and put moss underneath, after some time you will not see mesh.

Maybe sand down the pipe to give it the rough touch and maybe the moss can attach better.

I like the idea of securing the moss under the screen and it will eventually grow through. Except I wouldn't want to use window screen for this would I? I'd need something more like chicken wire with larger openings correct? That would rust though. Some type of plastic mesh/netting (like the kind fruit comes in) seems ideal.

Something like this. You can check hardware store or order online just need to be secured from rusting.

And what type of moss can tolerate high lighting and stays relatively short, like a carpet? Or can be pruned to give a carpeted look?

You should know , you are mossman after all hahaha joke. That I don't know I don't have experience in carpeting with moss. But search in google you will find answer. I know people do that.

This is what I was thinking. Except I don't need such a large quantity! Most of it will go in the trash. It's cheap though:

Guess I could just buy a bag of onions already in one of these bags and use that

If you want low growing:
MinI xmas moss (will grow short)
Fissidens (litteral grow around 1/8 of an inch)
Weeping moss (grows down in good conditions, giving the illusion of compact growth)

Moss has no problem attaching to PVC after a while, so just tying or gluing should suffice.

Cool idea! I have a vertical PVC pipe to support a dwarf umbrella palm. I hate the way the pipe looks but couldn't think of a good way to cover it other than "put things in front of it."

Mesh bag from Asian noodles around a shell and java moss, secured with rubber bands. I don’t recommend using anything hot pink lol. I also just used the white mesh bags that comes with garlic heads as an intake cover to. Replace my intake sponges.
