Sealing Advice!

I have a 30 gallon tall tank that was previously used with reptiles (fully cleaned out) but the heat lamps I worry may have damaged the seals. I've filled it once with water with no leaks overnight. Should I trust it or attempt to reseal myself? If resealing what should I use that's durable but not going to make me broke?

Most people use silicone but honestly if you had a picture I could see how bad it is

I wish I had a pic but I am out of town for the week. I worry about what to use, I have GE II 100% silicone but I've heard mixed reviews on it. I really worry because I'm on the top floor of my dorm and I can't imaging the damage costs if it were to leave out or break..

Please make sure that this is an aquarium tank, not a reptile tank.
They may look the same, but the glass is a lot thinner in a reptile tank and will crack/explode under the pressure of a full load of water.

It is! It was used for fish a few years ago. But for the last 2 years it had a heat lamp and lizard in it

Do not use GE II 100% silicone on your aquarium, it has mold inhibitors that will be fatal to your fish if leeched into the water column. GE I 100% silicone is aquarium safe though.

Is GE I available at Walmart? The closest pet store to me is almost an hour and I don't have a card to order online

They don't sell it at pet stores, however Lowes carries it.
