Just thought I would show some terrible photos of my scarlet badis pair. The female is hiding in the back of the tank and nearly invisible (she's small and therefore not very colorful yet - possibly very young still). The male is a bit pale, but more adventurous than I thought he would be.
Their tank isn't ready yet. It was infested with camallanus worms and needs to be emptied and bleached out, and I haven't had time, so I tossed them into a 2.5 gallon critter keeper with a bit of hornwort to let them get used to my dogs, some activity, etc. I'll be fixing up their tank very soon I hope. It's going to be a heavily planted indian river biotope. Since my pea puffers didn't work out, I will be looking into tiny, tiny schooling fish as dither fish that could reasonably be found in the same area as scarlet badis to add to the tank (if anyone knows of any, I'm open to suggestion).
Anyway here you go, some terrible shots of what hopefully will soon be a very beautiful, colorful fish.
