Scarlet Badis Is An Oddball?

Been seeing Dario Dario show up in Petco pretty often lately. I’ve heard they’re picky eaters, so I was holding off getting them while doing some research on them. Then I saw some show up and not get bought or die at the store for a week, so I decided to get em as they seem healthy enough to have lasted in store conditions.

Thought there was a pair M/F but seems there was 1 more.

What’s so oddball about Scarlet Badis? They really don’t seem odd to me. Maybe a bit difficult to feed but doesn’t seem any worse than CPDs or other small species.

They are not really odd-ball, but a lot of stores do not carry them. Some have tried, but people just walk past them. Some people try them but they do not do well outside of a species only tank so when they fail, they don't try again. Good luck with your guys. I really like them.

It's probably the last time I'll be able to get a pic of em since they went into a pretty heavily planted tank. Hopefully they'll do alright eating baby cherry shrimp. And maybe I'll get to see them about as often as I get to see my dwarf crayfish in my other tank lol (haven't seen it since I added it months ago then I did a deep clean and found it still alive in the tank)

Hopefully You will see them more once they get acclimated and get comfortable. It is always a gamble. I have 11 orange lazer cories in a tank. I am lucky to see two a day unless I am doing a deep clean .

My LFS actually carries these and they know nothing about them...I plan to get a couple for my rcs tank next week. They’re so neat looking!
