Tiffany, welcome!
You are going to spend a LOT of your time around this new endeavour. And around this forum, too....

Guess the LFS-owner went out and popped a bottle of champagne, LOL

Don't be scared, SW really is easy

Most of all, don't rush to fill the tank, do your reading and research first, ask some questions and understand things before you start.

One of the biggest mistakes people make with SW is rushing into it. Nothing good ever happens quickly in SW, and your patience will definitely be rewarded.

Our beginner's page also has a lot of good advice https://www.fishlore.com/SaltwaterBeginners.htm

For books, check out some of the reviews here: https://www.fishlore.com/Books.htm

PS - What size tank did you buy?

congrats on your new tank. Looking forward to pictures after you get it all set up. I love sw tanks but sadly I don't have the funds, nor the space, for one. Happy trails!

I would also like to know how big the tank you bought is. I have been thinking SW too. I don't think I will take that step for at least a year and maybe longer. We are thinking about selling this house and if we do then I will wait til we move... Anyway, when I heard your initial cost, it made me curious what all you got for that price tag. tank size, protein skimmer? refugium? everything, even decorations? Tell me more. LOL
