Yeah those are peppered. Wish I ran into that guy I would have took all the cories. Would have given me a good excuse to set up a new tank.

Cool fish! And your Petco has ghosties? No fair! But in my area the Petcos are the best place to buy fish, both in terms of quality and rarity, like blue platys, threadfin rainbows and koi swordtails. But no ghosties, just bamboos shrimp.

So, Petco just...disposes of fish after a certain amount of time?

What do you mean by a guy with tuberware? Were they a new shipment of fish or something contained in it?

Ohhh, I thought the guy was an employee of Petco but now that I read it again, I see that he might not have been and the fishies were being saved from being GIVEN to Petco

Glad you saved them from petco! Everytime I go their to look, there are always dead fish everywhere that have been in the tank at least a week. The walmart in my area take better care of their fish, which isn't saying much. Good luck and I wish the best for them!!!
