Hi. I’m Faith and I’m close to giving up. I absolutely love my Betta fish and take care of him as best I can. His water parameters are great. Ammonia low. Good ph. Nitrates not too high. He has a new 3 gallon tank with a filter and consistent heat of 78. But he’s been sick for months. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. Recently, he stopped eating. His body has spots and a line of puffy redness (I’ll include pictures). He hasn’t pooped in a long time and I’ve fasted and fed him peas. I’m so concerned for the poor little guy. Parasite? Bacteria? What am I doing wrong and how can I save him? He also has blue spots. At one point, his ammonia spiked and his bowl was cloudy for 2 days (I was away and he was with my mom). He might’ve had ammonia poisoning (which is why his gills may be somewhat red). Ammonia is down now. I think he might have a parasite or bacteria probably. Any help would be fantastic. He constantly lays down and won’t even go to eat. He chills by the filter a lot as well. I had to remove his decoration because he was tearing his fins and constantly rubbing against it. I also have a moss ball and plants growing.
