I have a 20 gallon, planted, Betta tank. I would like to switch from gravel to a white sand, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the different kinds of sand. Could someone recommend any that would be Betta safe, and ok for live plants? I mainly have java ferns and some anubias. I also have nerite snails if that makes a difference.

Pool filter sand, I think they might be a white colored type. Also the plants that you have are mostly plants that are tied so the substrate shouldn't really matter. PFS is cheap, $6-$8 bucks per bag :)
