Sand For Loaches

Hello, I've been trying to find black sand for kuhlI loaches. I 've been looking at and researching a lot of brands, but some are really expensive, others, upon reading reviews, are not sand, but died pieces of metal and plastic (?!). I could not imagine it would be this hard! Loaches are said to really like to dig and play in the sand, so I imagine it has to have no really sharp particles and be durable (people say dye comes off some substrates). Any recommendations for black sand?

Black Diamond blasting sand is good if you can find. It's not sand sand, but more like a very fine gravel. You want something that's still heavy enough to not get sucked up when you're syphoning

Black diamond blasting sand. Just rince well before using. I've heard it's just a couple bucks for a 50lbs bag.

Have to ask an American for that. Canada doesn't stock it.

Ah ha! Found it. Tractor Supply. You want the 20/40 grit.

Is that the one which says "coal abrasive"? could you post the link if you have it?

I live in SA, but found something extremely close. I have heard you can get it from Tractor co. Or something like that in the USA

That sounds about right. I've heard people saying to rince because of coal dust. I don't have a link, someone in another thread was asking the same thing and I grabbed it off of that link.
