Sand And Gravel Color For Goldfish

I have dark blue background, so which sand and gravel color to enhance fancy goldfish color ?

If you don't have a black goldfish, normally a dark substrate(like black) will make colors pop more.

 

One (Orange and white),one black and one lavender.

 

Green would be the best contrast Personally I'd do regular tan coloured sand with a green background.

 

I've had Sara and Maybelle for six months. Sara was all orange, then all gold, and now all white. Maybelle was orange with lots of distinctive black markings; now she is all orange.
The gravel started out river-bottomy tan and off-white and stayed that way.

 

usually for goldfish aquariums and for substrate and gravel I like to take the more natural look and go with black or brown substrate with gravel that is light brown and tan

 

Darker substrate works best for goldfish in my experience since they poop a lot and it doesn't show up so well on dark substrate. You would still be able to see the black goldfish if your background is blue.

I didn't mention lavender. I love the smell of lavender, but not the color.
