Salvinia Minima - will it hinder the light

I'm kind of interested in getting a small floating plant for my 10g to bring out some more color in my fish.

I have Anubias Nana Petite Crypt Wendtii Green, and Crypt Parva in my tank.

Would adding this hinder the light source for these dramatically?

Is feeding and water changes a PITA with floating plants?

I've made circles of airline tubing to contain the floating plants. It's a big help, but you'll need to thin them occasionally (maybe frequently). In any case, crypts don't need a lot of light, so they'd probably be okay.

As long as some filtered light gets through you will be fine. I have plenty of floating plants from frogbit, salvinia, water lettuce, duckweed, etc and I just have to thing things out every so often.

By thin, do you mean remove some?

I assume leaving food at the top is done with floating plants? Aka...you have to ensure the food goes directly into the water column?

I'd either consider making an airline ring, like JettsPapa suggested, or leave a feeding ring in the tank all the time (in case we're talking about a betta) so the little guy can get some air occasionally.

I just make a spot with my hand and put food on the water surface. Yes I thin mine by selling, but I sometimes have too much so unfortunately I have to throw some away! I also feed NLS algaemax wafers for snails and plecos. Fish like them too! They sink to the bottom so as long as they get past the floating plants all will be okay.
