Salt treatment for Ich in guppies.

Hello folks.
After a lot of deaths of my fishes and a lot of trouble I finally managed to pinpoint the culprit in my fresh water tank.

It was ich. To cut a long story short, after a bit of research I learned, to cure ich one needs to add 2 tsp of salt per gallon of tank water and one needs to set the temp at around 85F.

I also learned one needs to leave it like that for around 10 days. The above combination supposedly kills the parasite.

The question is how to get rid of the salt at the end of 10 days?
The other question is do we add the amount of salt all at once?

Anyone has any insight to this.
Thanks in advance.

Extra info - tank size - 14 gallon.
Inhabitants- 6 adult blue Moscow guppies
2 juvenile - platys
9 - Young guppies

Is that high temp ok for the guppies for 2 weeks?

It's just temporary so it's fine for all fish.

Doesn't matter. It's the elevated temps that speed up the ich's life cycle. But you need to keep it at 86F for the full two weeks even if you see the spots disappear sooner than that. I'd read through that thread for additional info on how to treat.
