With lettuce prices hitting up to $14 for an iceberg lettuce after widespread flooding I decided to plant some of my own, checkout the process.

Seeds,

Seed germinated (21/06/22)

Some nice growth (22/07/22),

Going Strong (09/08/22)
A few little cherry tomatoes added too, dodging the frosts.

Fellow Aussie here, i know all about these prices, my father is in the fruit and veg game and things in Aus are tough now, we have many plants growing in vege patch just for this type of problem.

My dad and other wholesalers are selling 1 box of 10-12 heads of iceburg lettuce for around 130-150$ AUD, so imagine how much supermarkets must be selling them for to make profit...... ^ through the roof

Have ether of you two ever eaten Lebanese cress?
What about Vietnamese mint?

I have both of these growing this time of year in the cold winter climate with -8 frosts. I am using them as plant filters but probably should be eating a bit as food?

I am aware of what both of those are and have kept them both in my pond... i have never tried to eat it although my grand mother grows both and she/we eat it.
