Hi I have had my sailfin pleco for over a year, and I'm just wondering if there are any special characteristics to tell if it's a boy or girl? Thanks in advance for any advice!!!
P.S. I'll try to get a pic on here later, he's a fast little guy! (Or gal ;) )

    Welcome to FishLore!:)
It's really difficult to tell, usually the pleco has to be over 12 inches before it is possible to sex it.
I hope you have a big tank for your boy or girl, sailfins get huge!

Thank you!! My tank isn't big enough for a sailfin right now, but I'm planning on getting a 150 gal in the next while :)

Commons and sailfin males have barbs up and down the length of there body. Its easier viewed from the top. Do you have a picture?
