Safestart by Tetra

Ok guys. It's been a year since I've been able to have a tank up. Of course I'm ready to get one going and I'm very impatient. So has anyone had any success using this? I'm thinking about trying it, or maybe asking some of my local fish keeping friends for some media.

 

I've used it twice. It seemed to work pretty good!

 

I recommend Tetra Safestart! I used it to cycle my tank. You should try it but read the label carefully.

 

I've used it and no complaints. You have to follow the directions exactly and would read up on the Q&A Link about Tetra Safe Start.

I've used it to set up 3 different tanks (2-10g and 1-29g) and all three were great successes! I would recommend it for sure!

 

I used it on my 75 and have not had any problems with the tank, been up and running over a year now.

I started a 7 gallon tank yesterday with Safestart. I waited 24 hours to add it after Prime. Today I stuck a strip in there and the reading was way past safe for PH and hardware. So I quickly added 1 tsp of ph stabilizer. Now what? O ordered an API master kit in the mail. I guess I was supposed to leave it alone for 2 weeks. So what now? I have a mexican crayfish in there and 2 Rasbora hengeli.

 

Ph is for the most part irrelevant. Fish commonly sold in the trade were born and breed in hard water and high ph.
My water is 8.2 ph and off the charts hard. My fish do well and successfully spawn in it. My shrimp, snails do better in hard water. Its good for there shells.

Its hard to maintain a steady ph with chemicals. Stability is key with ph.
